We all dream of living a life that feels truly fulfilling, where our potential is fully realized, and our aspirations become reality.
Staying on track and maintaining focus is crucial.
By tracking your progress and learning from each step, you can continuously grow and evolve.
1. Know Yourself
Boring Right?
Lets dig deeper.
It’s important to know yourself as you build your dream life because everything flows from you.
You have to know yourself: know your gifts, know your strengths and weaknesses, and be confident in who you are in order to start creating the life that you want.
Believe that you are born with a unique set of gifts, talents, strengths, or life experiences.
Believe that you are an extremely unique person and you are good at certain things.
There are times you might feel like you’re doubtful, you’re not sure ,you don’t feel like you’re especially good at anything.
So if that’s where you are now, what you can do
is ask yourself:
When was the time where you felt confident and felt like yourself or felt comfortable?
When are those times where you feel like you’re at your best?
And you might have to take some time to sit down
and jot down some ideas or memories from the past where you felt like you were really happy, living at your best, or doing something where you were in flow.
And what I mean by ‘flow’ is when you are so focused and so productive at doing this certain thing that the outside world becomes silent.
The moment you discover yourself, is the moment you discover your strength.
2. Eliminate Negative Thoughts.
Here is the thing.
It’s pretty easy to go from good to bad, but far harder to shift from bad to good.
We literally have to work harder to see the upside of things, right?
Clear your mind.
When you’re having negative thoughts, well ask yourself these questions.
- Is it useful?
- Is it necessary?
- Is it helping me improve?
Shift the negative voices and stories that are going on in our minds into positive ones, and eliminate a fear of failure that has never happened yet.
Be the security guard of your own mind.
You have your own path, just for you.
They might not understand, but it’s okay.
You don’t have to listen to people who don’t believe you.
That negative is tainting your dream visualization
3. Visualize Your Goal
Aristotle
Create an image in your mind of what you hope to achieve in the future.
This could be a luxury house for you and your family or a vision of yourself on the stage sharing the story of your life. Use your imagination.
The most successful people in the world do this.
They clearly visualize exactly what it is they want, to the extent that it already happened.
They see it clearly like it’s a done deal.
Clarity is power, knowing what you really want in life will give you a sense of direction and will open yourself up to possibilities.
Why would the farmer put the plow in the ground in the spring if he couldn’t see the vision of the harvest when the summer is finished.
Is it possible to see the finished harvest? the answer is YES, we do that simply by faith – Jim Rohn
4. Plan
Now that you have your goals in mind, the next question would be
“How can I turn this dream into reality?”.
Now, this is where the planning comes in.
Life is short, you need a plan.
You will get lost without a map.
A framework to keep you focused and on track.
Time is gold, if you spend a week making a solid plan you will save at least decades of your life.
Write down all the details of your goal from broad to very specific, from where you are right now to where you want to be.
It includes the problems, solutions, strategies and the result.
Stick to your vision, that it can be done.
Remember, that you can never skip this step.
You must have a game plan and a map to where you want to go.
Otherwise, you will end up lost on totally different ideas and concepts.
Or worse you fail on the bigger picture that you visualized. In this case you need to go back to step.
5. Execute
Your plan and your vision means nothing without your ability to execute.
Everybody likes to talk about their dreams.
Everybody likes to throw around big ideas without a real plan to be able to make that idea a reality.
Don’t let that be you.
Knowledge is not power if you don’t put it to work.
The only reason you’re not successful is not that you haven’t thought about the perfect idea, not because you don’t have the potential but because of your lack of execution.
Ideas are easy to talk about but execution is what’s hard to do.
Everybody got plenty of ideas and plans, but they don’t have the fire it make it happen.
It takes a deeper level of focus and a deeper level of dedication.
I’m not telling you not to talk about your dreams and express the better version of yourself in the future, but for how long?
How long are we going to talk about it, how long are you gonna tell people what you’re gonna do and not do it?
Some would say, I don’t have the right resources around, I don’t have the right people around.
And while that may be a legitimate reason and in all fairness, there are lots of people who are successful today who came from the same background and had the same circumstances, who had the same lack of resources and they made it.
-Jim Rhon
This is the most important part, “showing up”. Stop saying “NO” to the obstacles that block your path, face them.
This is the part where everybody stops, they procrastinate because things are hard. Yes Sir, that’s part of the journey.
The most successful people in the world have this one thing in common, they never procrastinate in the face of the plan, they have a good habit of just doing what they say. They want to make things happen immediately and see results as soon as possible.
Dreams alone won’t suffice; you need a plan to bring them to life and executing your plan is where the magic truly happens.
6. Focus And Stay On Track
Steve Jobs is very well known to have a laser like focus, he is willing to give up 1000 ideas to make 1 big idea happen.
Hear his advice.
Sit down and write down all of your accomplishments or anything that you learn in the past 7 days. It doesn’t matter if it was a minor or major accomplishment. Just write it down every single week.
List down all the distractions around you and how it affects you.
List down your news skills and how it motivates you.
Have a diary where you can track your progress towards the biggest dream of your life. You can just basically note everything and be honest.
Taking notes of your progress every week will help you be more productive in the next coming weeks. Be sure to do so, and it for yourself.
7. Fail Forward
Failing is certain, but it is where most of the lessons are.
It is where the growth and the adaptations happen.
David Goggins
You fail, do it again
Failing helps you recognize the areas where you need to evolve.
Now, forgive yourself.
If you stop failing you will stop evolving.
Pushing forward will open new ideas, solutions and new doors waiting for you.
Failing doesn’t mean you lost. It just means, you can try again tomorrow.
